At least 14 passengers have been reportedly burnt to death in a ” multiple car crash” along Ogun State highway linking to the Lagos- Ibadan Expressway.
According to The Nation, a Mazda bus ran into a faulty ” Toyota Rav 4″ while trying to overtake, sumersaulted several times before it caught fire, killing 14 plus passengers.
The Public Relations Officer, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident, saying; ” In all, 17 passengers were in the bus when the crash happened with three seriously injured and 14 burnt beyond recognition among which are three kids.
However, the Babatunde sent his condolences to te deceased families and advised other road users to avoid speeding and unnecessary overtaking.

According to a statement by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, on the Facebook wall of the command, during their arrest, a locally- made. double- barrel pistol, two live cartridges, six live english pistol ammunition and two live berretta pistol ammunition were recovered from them.while reiterating the unwavering commitment of the Command to weed out unrepentant criminal elements and their activities in the State, has commended efforts of the operatives and charged them to sustain the tempo.
He enjoined law- abiding citizens of the State to remain vigilant and continue to support the Command in the fight against acts of crime and criminality.They always say that everyday if for the thief and one day if for the owner and that has once again proven true.
